START Centre (NTUitive Pte Ltd) is looking for a Project Engineer responsible for designing and reviewing engineering drawings for membrane fabrication equipment, managing equipment O&M and liaising with vendors and contractors for servicing and maintenance works, as well as working with project team to develop mechanical solutions for membrane development, production, and performance evaluation. This is a newly created role and the potential candidate will report to the project lead and support the project team in executing translation projects in collaboration with IHL's and industry.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Supporting project lead on the relevant project.
  • Work with project team to understand project requirements so as to provide the best mechanical solutions to accelerate project progress.
  • Design and spec equipment and machinery based on project requirements.
  • Review drawings and documents provided by vendors/contractors.
  • Support and execute preventive maintenance procedures for membrane fabrication machinery, in accordance with equipment requirements as recommended by vendors / suppliers.
  • Support procurement of parts and/or securing of services for preventive or breakdown maintenance works where applicable.
  • Document all equipment servicing records.
  • Uphold strict compliance with Environment, Safety and Health regulations.


Requirements:
  • Degree/diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Relevant experience in O&G/Pharmaceutical/Manufacturing production is an advantage.
  • Trained in or familiar with health, safety and environment (HSE) practices/protocols, e.g. safety risk assessment, LOTO etc.
  • Familiar with engineering drawings such as but not limited to PFD, P&ID, GA.
  • Experience with design softwares such as but not limited to AutoCAD, Solidworks.
  • Experience with electrical systems/SLD is an advantage.
  • Experience with HVAC systems is an advantage.
  • Experience with gas separation membranes fabrication and applications is an advantage.
  • Good communication, oral and written skills. Hands-on problem-solving attitude.
  • Keen interest in the water and membrane industry.
  • Self-initiative, highly motivated, self-starter with ability to perform duties independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Able to liaise with contractors and vendors for maintenance work.


Appointment may vary and will commensurate with candidate's years of working experience.
