Roledescription

The Programme Manager role is responsible foroverseeing and managing the controlled implementation of a number of connectedprojects related to Business & Functional Applications. This role providesleadership and guidance to the delivery team to ensure the successful projectdelivery across the region. The Programme Manager is a champion for theadoption of industry standard procedures, tools and techniques which ensurethat the projects within his or her scope are well set up and structured toestablish probability of full scope delivery, on time and within the definedcost and quality parameters agreed with project stakeholders.

KeyResponsibilities

ProjectLeadership

• Develop and execute assigned projects withclear purpose and success criteria in alignment with organisation goals andpriorities:

• Identify the project stakeholders and theirroles and communication requirements throughout the project lifecycle

• Lead the delivery team (comprising direct andindirect reports) across the various components of the programme

• Analyse and define project schedules tounderstand and explain the critical path, and optimise delivery timeframes;

• Establish and align project budgets ensuringall dependencies are accounted for and cost categories are correctly assigned;

• Establish resource plans matching requiredexpertise and capacity to internal and vendor resources;

• Establish and manage project risk andescalation processes to ensure early detection and mitigation planning forrisks relating to schedule, cost and scope;

• In collaboration with business and technicalanalysts:

• Initiate and facilitate requirement gathering,business use cases and project objectives;

• Lead and facilitate the development of acomprehensive Work Break Down structure outlining project deliverables and workpackages;

• Support the delivery team(s) in the resolutionof project constraints, dependencies, issues and blocker(s);

• Manage the oversight of vendor partnerssupporting the projects ensuring contract compliance and delivery methodsaligned to client practices;

• Track, and provide timely reports on projectexpenditure;

• Monitor project progress and communicateproject status, potential constraints and key achievements and challenges tointernal and external stakeholders according to client Bank's projectgovernance procedures.

Training and Skill Development

• Support the overall development and adoption ofproject management capabilities and practices across the region;

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with senior management and keystakeholders, including, but not necessarily limited to regional functionalleads, project sponsors and implementation teams in countries to understandbusiness objectives and priorities, and ensure the smooth implementationrelated projects across the APAC region.

• Build and maintain relationship with seniormanagement, key stakeholders, and project sponsors. With a focus on ensuringthey are kept fully updated on project progress and challenges

Project Performance Monitoring, and Risk andIssue Management

• Establish the framework to monitor and measureproject performance, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality, and trackprojects progress and outcomes.

• Collect and analyse project data, such as keyperformance indicators and metrics.

• Identify and assess project issues and risksproactively and provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies and help projectsponsors and stakeholders develop contingency plans.

• Provide project status updates and report tosenior management and key stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process improvementand efficiencies within the across in scope projects.

• Conduct lessons learned sessions andincorporate best practices into future project management efforts.

• Stay updated with domain trends and bestpractices.

Experience

• Proven experience in programme management in a leadership role,preferably in a financial service industry.

• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, andtechniques. Ideally the candidate will hold a current Project ManagementInstitute certification or equivalent or be in the process of obtaining thiscertification.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills, and communicationand stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to drive consensus among stakeholderswith competing interests, while balancing budget, timelines and risks.

• Experience working with geographicallydistributed team and a complex vendor landscape.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as businessadministration, project management, etc.

• Ideally the candidate will hold a currentProject Management Institute certification or equivalent or be in the processof obtaining this certification e.g. PMP, PgMp or equivalent
