Additive Flight Solutions Pte Ltd is Singapore-based EASA approved Aerospace Production organisation. Our mission is to be in the forefront of the Commercial Aerospace Aftermarket supply chain transformation with Additive Manufacturing and heat/chemical resistant PEEK, PEI, TPU thermoplastics. We are building DIGITAL INVETORY of tools for various Aircraft component repair and overhaul applications. Most MROs (Part 145) are having challenges and bottlenecks with scaling Shop-floor repair tooling, hardmasking, jigs and fixtures. AFS is on a Mission to design and develop rapid tooling applications in Singapore and Globally.

AFS is part of a Global Aerospace AM Group (AM Craft) with Production facilities in Dubai, Europe, and network in USA, and growing. We fabricate and supply Cabin parts to multiple OEMs, MROs and Airlines globally, and work with RTX, PW, RR, Safran and others. AFS Singapore team is yet small (
We are looking for an experienced Aerospace Tooling Engineer, with good understanding of Tooling design for Aerospace Part 145 applications, who can be in the forefront of building Aerospace Tooling Digital Inventory, for Engine, Wheel and Break, Landing Gear system applications.

Your duties will include:

1. Become proficient with Additive Manufacturing with FDM and design guidelines.
2. Lead the design and fabrication work for Engine, Wheel&Break and other Toolings and hardmaskings.
3. Build the Tooling Digital Inventory to share with MRO Customers globally.

Function
Lead the day-to-day operations at Aerospace Tooling development for OEMs and MROs and high-complexity CAD design and fabrication with Additive manufacturing.

The Tooling Engineer reports directly to the Production Manager.

Duties and responsibilities
1. Becoming proficient as Design engineer in FDM Additive Manufacturing technology, and subsequent post-processing technologies.

2. Analyze engineering requirements and specifications for aircraft component repair processes to conceptualize and design specialized tooling solutions.

3. Create and refine 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360, ensuring designs are precise, functional, and compliant with aerospace regulations.

4. Collaborate with Production team to evaluate design feasibility for Additive manufacturing, assessing various materials like heat-resistant thermoplastics and silicon based polymers.

5. Perform simulations and stress analyses in collaboration with OEM engineers on tooling designs to validate performance under operational conditions, such as thermal coating or shot-peening environments.

6. Review and iterate on designs based on feedback from quality assurance, production, and testing departments to optimize for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

7. Document design processes, including technical reports, blueprints, and revision histories, while maintaining compliance with EASA and AS9100 standards.

8. Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, troubleshoot design challenges, and integrate innovations in aerospace tooling.

9. Stay updated on industry advancements in CAD technologies, additive manufacturing, and engine repair methodologies to enhance design practices.

Requirements to Position

4.1. Very good English - both written and verbal.
4.2. Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360.
4.3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Aerospace engineering, with a focus on tooling design for aircraft component repair and overhaul.
4.4. Diploma or degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
4.5. Previous experience working with major engine manufacturers such as Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney, GE, or Safran will be considered as an advantage.
4.6. Knowledge of aerospace standards, including EASA and FAA regulations is an advantage.
4.7. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
4.8. Able to handle complex design challenges independently.
4.9. Able to conceptualize ideas into detailed solutions without OEM design support.
4.10. Comfortable communicating directly to OEM customers.
4.11. Good communication skills, and "can do" attitude.
4.12. Singapore citizenship or PR status mandatory.
