Position Pre- requisites
The person who is employed in this position shall:
Have completed the SGS company induction.
Be experienced and knowledgeable in the maintenance and repairs of diving life-saving equipment, machinery and tools.
Preferably hold a vocational certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Have completed a recognized Dive-Tech and KMB/hat maintenance course.
Be conversant with IMCA D018, D023, D040 and associated documents for divingequipment maintenance.
Have in date Occupational First Aid at Work certification.
Be medically fit for this position.
Fully understand and implement the procedures and working practices of SGS as laiddown in the company manuals and other documentation.
Position Responsibilities and Job Description
The Diving Equipment Technician is responsible for the repair,maintenanceand working performance of all SGS Singapore's diving life-saving equipment,machinery and tools. The dive-tech will work closely with the othermaintenance personnel and report directly to the Workshop Manager andindirectly to the Area Manager. His duties and responsibilities are (but notlimited to):
To carry out the repairs and maintenance of all diving life-saving equipment, machinery and tools; to be ready for use as and when required.
To immediately report to the Workshop Manager or Area Manager any diving life-saving equipment failure that will affect diving operations.
To carry out all work in compliance with national regulations and where required, to international codes of practice and best practice at all times.
To comply with SGS safety standards, procedures and practices whilstat work at all times.
To ensure Risk Assessments and Management of Change Procedures are followed for all work.
To stop work in the event of unsafe working conditions.
To be punctual for work at all times.
To be prepared to travel out to sea when required to repair equipment on site.
To ensure all diving life-saving equipment, machinery and tools, and any other related equipment are routinely maintained, tested and in-dated in accordance with the SGS Planned Maintenance System.
To accurately log and update all repairs and maintenance in the PMS program (Maintenance Pro) when carrying out such works.
To ensure all planned and unplanned maintenance are carried out by safe work processes.
To provide any support for the overall operations of the warehouse, office facilities and property maintenance if required.
To manage, store and control hazardous materials in accordance with local and SGS guidelines.
To ensure the diving life-saving equipment and consumables inventory is updated, maintained and accurate at all times.
To report stock levels and carry out the control, issue and return of diving life-saving equipment, consumables and spares.
To ensure the diving life-saving equipment annual audit is conducted and any non-conformances closed out.
To carry out any task in line with the position role and responsibility and on mutual agreement between employer and employee.
Interfaces:
This position will have a reporting and interface roles with the following positions:
Area Manager, Lead Diver, Workshop Manager, Diving Supervisor.
