Role Overview:
The PLC System Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of Port Quay/RTG Crane's control systems. This role focuses on the maintaining, diagnosing, and Troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI/SCADA) and Communication part between PLC &Drive (VFD) System to minimize downtime with all safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Requirements & Qualifications:
Education
Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Experience
3+ years in industrial automation, specifically in a maintenance or commissioning role.
PLC Software
Preferred: Proficiency in PLC brands such as FUJI ELECTRIC/SIEMENS/ABB/MITSUBISHI.
Networking
Strong understanding of PLC Logic & Communication protocols.
Schematics
Expert ability to read and interpret complex electrical Schematics.
Hard & Soft Skills requirement:
PLC Systems:
Understanding & Troubleshooting Knowledge of PLC Software's (LD/FBD/IL/ST). Replacement of Hardware's according to the Failures.
Crane Monitoring System (SCADA/HMI):
Ability to understand the Alarm and troubleshoot according to the Fault information.
Problem-Solving:
A methodical approach to Troubleshooting/debugging code under high-pressure, "machine-down" scenarios.
Prior experience in Port Crane Application is added advantage
Ability to team lead a group of Engineer/Technician
Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and PWM Converters.
Good communication skill & attitude.
Familiarity with different kinds of measuring tools.
Note: Engineer/Sr. Engineer designation will be measured by Skills, Years of specific Experience and the ability to handle Team/Task independently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled inspections and software backups of Fuji Electric brand PLC/HMI/SCADA systems to prevent hardware failure or data loss.
- Rapid Troubleshooting (Breakdown): Diagnose complex system faults involving PLC CPU, I/O modules, communication networks (Profibus, Ethernet, RS232C, RS485), and field devices. Replacing the necessary PLC Hardware's in case failure.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system fault occurred, updated changes in the System/Electrical schematics if any.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate repetitive failures and implement long-term technical solutions rather than temporary "patch" fixes.
- Safety & Collaboration: Safety as priority: Work closely with Customer to ensure Safety Protocols & earliest release of Cranes to operation.
