The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our client's dynamic project team in Singapore. This is a pivotal role for an individual passionate about contributing to large-scale thermal power projects, with a specific focus on Combined Cycle Power Plants. You will leverage your extensive expertise to lead design efforts, ensure compliance with international standards, and provide critical technical guidance within a challenging and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute complex electrical system studies, including load flow, short circuit analysis, and arc flash studies, ensuring system stability and safety.
• Develop and implement precise relay protection settings and coordination studies to optimize system performance and fault isolation.
• Provide expert technical review of electrical drawings, equipment specifications, and vendor proposals, ensuring adherence to project requirements and industry best practices.
• Offer mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and draftsmen, fostering their professional development and ensuring the highest quality of design output.
• Proactively manage electrical drawing schedules, ensuring timely delivery and strict adherence to Owner and Engineer specifications.
• Lead technical clarification meetings, effectively resolving design challenges and ensuring seamless project execution across disciplines.
• Actively support site and commissioning teams, providing electrical expertise, troubleshooting assistance, and ensuring smooth project handover.
• Represent the client during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for critical High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems, ensuring equipment meets specifications.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address technical issues, and ensure design integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct thorough technical evaluations of vendor proposals to inform selection decisions and ensure optimal equipment procurement.
• Provide essential technical assistance during tender preparations, ensuring comprehensive and accurate documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized and accredited institution.
• A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in electrical design, specifically within thermal power projects, with a strong emphasis on Combined Cycle Power Projects (CCPP).
• Demonstrated expertise in industry-standard electrical design software such as ETAP, PSS/E, or DIgSILENT.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling for cable raceways and layouts is highly advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge and practical application of international electrical codes and standards, including IEC, IEEE, and NEC.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, take ownership of design deliverables, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• A strong cost-conscious mindset, prioritizing efficient and economical solutions without compromising quality or safety.
• Exceptional interdisciplinary coordination skills, fostering effective collaboration with other engineering disciplines, project stakeholders, and external vendors.
