Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Global IT Operations Engineer to support site-level IT operations at our manufacturing facility in Johor Bahru. This role is part of a global IT organization and is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of all on-site IT systems.

The ideal candidate has strong technical fundamentals across infrastructure, networking, end-user computing, and security, and is comfortable working directly with users, vendors, and global IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

End-User & Site Support

• Provide responsive technical support to on-site users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues
• Support desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals across multiple operating systems and applications

Infrastructure & Network Operations

• Support and maintain site infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and networking equipment
• Assist with LAN/WAN operations, structured cabling, and network troubleshooting
• Monitor system performance and proactively address stability, capacity, and performance issues

Security & Compliance

• Enforce global IT policies, security standards, and compliance requirements at the site level
• Support endpoint security, access controls, and cybersecurity best practices

Vendor & Asset Management

• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for procurement, maintenance, and repairs
• Maintain IT asset inventory and recommend improvements or upgrades where appropriate

Documentation & Process Improvement

• Maintain accurate documentation including system configurations, network diagrams, procedures, and service records
• Identify opportunities to automate or streamline operational tasks

Required Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
• 7-10 years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or site support roles (manufacturing environment preferred)
• Strong knowledge of:
  
  • LAN/WAN networking and structured cabling
  • Windows-based environments and enterprise hardware
  • Microsoft 365 and modern workplace tools
• Hands-on experience with:
  
  • LAN/WAN deployment and troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Autopilot
  • VMware virtualization
  • Cisco IOS networking
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and IT policy enforcement
• Experience using helpdesk or ticketing systems to manage user support requests
• Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or similar tools is a strong advantage
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, storage systems, and peripherals
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global IT teams
