JOB SUMMARY
The ophthalmic technician performs various eye investigations essential to the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions.

The ophthalmic technician will be expected to uphold professional ethics at all times and to consistently deliver standards of care as determined by the hospital.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. CLINICAL CARE

Ophthalmic Investigations

1. Humphrey Visual Field (HVF)
2. Photography and document the ocular structures in optical images
3. Heidelberg Retina Tomography (HRT)
4. Spectralis OCT (SPOCT)

Ophthalmic technician sub-specialty investigations includes either and/or :

Anterior Segment assessment

• AL-Scan
• OPD Scan
• Endothelial Cell Count (ECC)

Refractive Surgery assessment

• Corneal Topography (Orbscan and Galilei)
• Optical Abberation (HOA) (Zywave)
• Cornea Central Thickness (CCT) (Ultrasound Pachymetry)

3. SAFE CARE

• Maintain zero harm to patient
• Practice due diligence during all patient interactions to ensure safety of the patient at all times.
• Undertake corrective actions immediately and consistently when feedback given.

4. RESEARCH & QUALITY

• May assist in department projects.

5. GENERAL & AD-HOC DUTIES

• Actively involved in hospital and department's initiatives e.g. eye screening events
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Diploma in any discipline
• Preferred with IT related/ Engineering/ Biochemical
