As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel generators and related electrical systems at customer sites. This hands-on role requires a strong technical foundation in both electrical and mechanical systems, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and service quality. You will also support service documentation and provide technical feedback to the team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
• \tPerform regular preventive maintenance of diesel generators according to established service schedules.
• \tDiagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in generator systems.
• \tReplace or repair faulty components such as alternators, control panels, wiring, and batteries.
2. On-Site Service & Troubleshooting
• \tConduct site inspections, testing, and fault rectification of generator sets and associated systems.
• \tCarry out cable terminations, load testing, and commissioning of generator sets.
• \tRespond to emergency service calls and support urgent breakdown repairs.
3. Technical Documentation & Reporting
• \tComplete service reports, job sheets, and maintenance checklists accurately.
• \tMaintain service logs and update customer records as required.
4. Safety & Compliance
• \tEnsure all service activities comply with company and site-specific safety standards.
• \tUse appropriate PPE and follow safe working practices at all times.
5. Teamwork & Communication
• \tCoordinate with Service Coordinators and Engineers for job assignments and support.
• \tCollaborate with team members during complex service or installation jobs.
Requirements:
• \tNitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• \tBasic knowledge of diesel engines, alternators, and electrical circuits.
• \tAbility to read electrical diagrams and use testing instruments (e.g., multimeter, clamp meter).
• \tPhysically fit and comfortable working on-site, including outdoors and in generator rooms.
• \tWilling to work on a 24/7 rotational standby and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
• \tPositive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a strong team-oriented mindset.
• \tFresh graduates or candidates without prior experience are welcome to apply - training will be provided.
