Senior/Structural Steel Design Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior/Structural Steel Design Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the structural systems behind impactful construction projects. You will be involved throughout the full engineering cycle-from conceptual design and calculations to fabrication coordination and on-site implementation. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy technical problem-solving, and take pride in producing high-quality engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis for steel structures, including connection design, member sizing, and framing layouts.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculation reports, design specifications, and other technical documentation.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings with steel fabricators, subcontractors, and project partners.
• Collaborate closely with architects, consultants, and project teams to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient design solutions.
• Provide technical guidance during fabrication, delivery, and installation of structural steelworks.
• Conduct site inspections to verify quality, safety, and adherence to design intent.
• Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support design issue resolution, clash checks, and technical queries throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in planning and scheduling activities related to the structural design scope.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of structural behavior, steel design principles, and load calculations.
• Proficiency in drafting and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Tekla, and Revit.
• Minimum 2 years of experience using Tekla for structural steel modeling (required).
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• A positive, proactive, and reliable team player.
• Willing to participate in site visits, meetings, and inspections as needed.
• Eager to grow professionally within a specialist, high-performance environment.
