A1 Main Contractor with a strong track record in both public and private sector building developments is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer / Planning Manager to lead project planning, scheduling, design coordination planning, and progress control across major building projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving effective project and design planning to ensure timely, cost-efficient, and high-quality project delivery aligned with client and stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, coordination, and monitoring of project master programmes from tender through to completion.
• Develop detailed construction schedules, design deliverables schedules, resource plans, and progress-tracking systems using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Coordinate with design consultants, internal design teams, and technical departments to ensure design milestones are met and aligned with construction timelines.
• Work closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, and site teams to ensure alignment between design deliverables, site execution plans, and overall project programmes.
• Analyse project and design progress to identify delays, risks, and bottlenecks, proposing proactive mitigation measures.
• Monitor subcontractors' and suppliers' schedules-including shop drawings and technical submissions-to ensure synchronization with the main programme.
• Support tender planning activities, including time-cost analysis, design and construction sequencing, and methodology planning.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports, schedule forecasts, design status updates, and recovery plans for management and client meetings.
• Lead and mentor a team of planning engineers in ensuring planning discipline and consistency across multiple projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant planning experience within a main contractor environment.
• Proven track record in building projects, including experience coordinating design and construction planning.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, design deliverables workflow, resource planning, and project risk management.
