Role Purpose:

Responsible for developing new or known industrial processes and designing new process plants / equipment or modifying existing ones

Job Responsibilities:

• Preparation of PFDs, P&IDs, specifications, data sheets and functional descriptions.
• Pressure loss calculations, equipment sizing, utility, heat and mass balances
• Process capacity calculations fromcustomer URS
• Lead design reviews - with customer and internal Exyte team
• Cost Estimating
• Tender preparation and bid evaluation
• Process simulation capabilities and knowledge of respective software
• Able to handle process system on package unit or stick built basis
• Taking the design through to implementation, commissioning, qualification and handover
• Monitoring the start-up of all process systems and ensuring that these are progress in-line with the project schedule and quality requirements
• Financially review and evaluate Sub-Contractor variations and claims
• Assessing safety and environmental issues
• Manage, review and approve subcontractor's detailed design
• Quality control and vendor / subcontractor inspections
• Preparation of as built documentation and manuals
• Chairing sub-contractor progress meetings Chairing Discipline meetings and preparing meeting minutes
• Mentoring of Engineers with the intent of securing properly trained personnel to ensure the continual expansion of the company
• Trouble shooting of design and construction related problems and assisting the system engineers in developingsolutions
• In the absence of a Project based Lead Engineer, the Senior Engineer shall assume the role and responsibilitiesassigned to the Lead Engineer position
• In the absence of a Project based Engineer, the Senior Engineer shall assume the role and responsibilities assigned to the Engineer position
• Creates a business network (eg. Tradeshows, ISPE, Institute of Engineers etc.), network and with key client, staff, industry groups etc.
• Stays up-to-date with technical development, innovation and the industry.
• Ensuring the System Supervisor is fully briefed on the awarded scope of work, the tender technical documents and all contractual revisions to tender documentation
• Ensure design checklist is established and maintained for all projects

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering field
• MSc / MEng preferred
• Minimum years of experience: 8 - 10 years of professional experience
• Experience in design and / or construction of process systems or clean utility systems
• Experience in multinational life science projects, preferably in Pharmaceutical, Nutritional, Biopharmaceutical and Medical devices Industries
