We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Water Process Engineer to provide dedicated engineering support to a key remote-site client. This role centres on optimising water treatment processes, ensuring compliance, and delivering reliable technical assistance both on-site and remotely.

You will work closely with the client's operational team, building a strong working relationship and ensuring the water treatment facility operates smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This position is ideal for an engineer who can work independently, respond promptly to operational issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Process Performance & Optimisation

\t• \tMonitor, analyse, and optimise water treatment processes to meet operational, regulatory, and performance targets.

\t• \tIdentify inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance reliability, reduce costs, and streamline operations.

\t• \tConduct root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions where required.

Dedicated Client Support (Remote-Site)

\t• \tProvide ongoing technical support to a remote-site client, including troubleshooting, performance assessments, and process adjustments.

\t• \tSupport the client through remote monitoring tools, scheduled visits, and timely response to operational issues.

\t• \tOffer clear guidance to site operators, helping maintain consistency across shifts.

Technical Improvements & Compliance

\t• \tLead Management of Change (MOC) processes for system modifications or upgrades.

\t• \tEnsure all process changes meet safety, environmental, and operational compliance requirements.

\t• \tMaintain detailed and accurate technical documentation and operational records.

Planning & Reporting

\t• \tReview and update operational strategies to align with the client's business objectives.

\t• \tPrepare monthly performance reports, highlighting achievements, risks, and improvement opportunities.

\t• \tRecommend and scope process improvement or equipment upgrade projects.

Selection Criteria

Essential

\t• \tDiploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering, Water Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.

\t• \tMinimum 2 years' experience in water treatment or process engineering.

\t• \tStrong capability in preparing technical and non-technical documentation.

\t• \tExcellent verbal and written communication skills, especially when supporting remote operators.

\t• \tValid driving licence.

\t• \tStrong adherence to safety, environmental standards, and quality requirements.

\t• \tWillingness to travel for site support and client work.

\t• \tAbility to work independently while maintaining strong client-focused service delivery.

Desirable

\t• \tSCADA / process control system experience.

\t• \tExposure to remote-site operations or utility plant environments.

\t• \tKnowledge of regulatory water quality and environmental compliance.

\t• \tExperience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

\t• \tAbility to provide training or technical coaching to operators.
