Job Purpose

  • To work as part of the Design team developing leak sealing clamp from conceptual ideas through drawing, justification to codes and standards, manufacturing, testing and support of field technicians. To provide technical leadership on commercial and development projects by taking technical responsibility and accountability. To provide guidance and mentorship to other members of the Design team.

  • Design Engineers, Trainee Design Engineers,Graduate Engineers, Trainee Draughtsperson and technicians

External relations

  • Clients/ Suppliers

Main Responsibilities

  • Applies Engineering principles, experience and expertise to the design of leak sealing clamp.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and marketing, to ensure product designs meet customer needs and production capabilities.
  • Utilize CAD/Solidworks software to create detailed drawings and specifications for product designs.
  • Assists with the training and development of Design Engineers and Trainees.
  • Maintains good working relationships internally with other departments and externally with clients.
  • Keeps abreast of developments within the industry and helps to ensure TET ALLIANCE remains seen as a leader in their field.
  • Ensures Engineering design packages are in full compliance with customers' requirements and all relevant codes and standards and carries out final approval of design packages.
  • Produces conceptual designs and detailed engineering analysis using available methods.
  • Prepares design specifications for new products to meet client and industry requirements.
  • Prepares assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Attends client meetings as required, identifying design engineering requirements and processes to meet client needs.
  • To comply with TET ALLIANCE and Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times. Adheres to project objectives, budget, schedules and deadlines

Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in clamp design and development, preferably in a related industry.
  • Expertise in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and design standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Experience / Competence / Skills / Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Design experience from first principles.
  • Design experience to pressure vessel/pipeline codes and standards including ASME B31.4, B31.8, B31.3, ASME VIII Division 1 and 2.
  • Competence in 3D modelling and drafting, proficient with Autodesk Inventor.
  • Familiar with process plant or pipeline interventions work such as hot taps, repair clamps, isolations either inline or branch installed and temperate or corrosion considerations.
  • Experienced and competent in checking and approving engineering design packages.
  • Experienced with FEA techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
