Job Responsibilities of an Equipment Service Technician: -

Summary

The role of Service Technician is responsible for aftersales technical service - upkeeping, troubleshooting, and repairing upon commercial kitchen equipment , while also handling parts inventory management, warehouse tracking, and procurement coordination. This role ensures that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with manufacturer recommendations and company standards, in the aim of keeping the activities of commercial kitchens running smoothly.

Major tasks and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Assist with new equipment installation
  • Carry out periodic inspection, cleaning, and other technical-related on-site and off-site servicing
  • Support periodic maintenance or assigned schedules, as well as preventive maintenance and ongoing training to the user
  • Provide on-site inspections, troubleshoot and diagnosis for existing and potential equipment errors.
  • Offer follow-up servicing including and not limited to the repairing, adjusting and replacing of flawed parts or equipment
  • Team collaboration and coordination with other departments and HQ
  • Coordinate procurement from local or order overseas, storing and managing of necessary tools and parts. Organize and plan warehouse tracking, implement tracking systems to monitor parts locations and status
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and align with workplace safety requirements
  • Housekeeping during and after service
  • Support operations during special events, off-hours, weekends, and holidays if required. Attend quickly to emergency call on equipment repair issues, as well as to after-hours calls
  • Perform other duties the supervisor may assign


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Strong hands-on abilities, extensive independent operation experience, and the ability to effectively organize and plan maintenance processes and inventory systems to ensure efficient and error-free operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and their components in commercial kitchens and dining services. Plumbing repair and installation practices and procedures.
  • Strong ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, and to follow operation and installation manuals to successfully complete tasks.
  • Ability to work in a team setting with other maintenance workers, staff, and members of the public.
  • Preferable with experience maintain and repair various types of hot and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Preferable with the abilities to operate kitchen equipment and to foresee potential issues users might encounter.
