JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Installation and Commissioning:
Responsible for the installation and commissioning of WEG products(such as Electric motor, Drives & Alternator) and equipment at customer sites.
Work closely with control systems to integrate VFDs and motors into a cohesive operation.
Ensure that all equipment is set up correctly and meets operational standards. - Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform field service for maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure smooth operation.
Diagnose and repair technical issues related to equipment malfunction or failure. - Customer Training and Support:
Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding product usage and maintenance.
Conduct on-site training sessions for clients on how to operate and maintain equipment. - Technical Support and Consultation:
Offer technical consultation to assist in resolving complex technical issues.
Collaborate with the technical team to develop solutions tailored to customer needs. - Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed service records, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and customer feedback.
Submit regular reports on job status, equipment conditions, and service-related activities to management.
Provide recommendations for improvements based on site observations and customer input. - Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations while on-site.
Promote a safe working environment by following safety protocols and using proper safety equipment.
Adhere to company policies and guidelines for quality control and industry standards. - Collaboration, Coordination, and Customer Relationship Management:
Work closely with the technical and support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing technical inquiries and service-related concerns. - Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel in ASEAN region for on-site service, commissioning/installations, maintenance, and customer support.
Occasional travel to regional or overseas locations may be required based on project needs and customer requirements. - Experimentation and Investigation:
Analyse data and report findings to support product and system improvements. - Inventory and Materials Management:
Inspect inventory levels and reorder materials and technical components to maintain stock for ongoing projects.
Ensure the availability of necessary parts and components to avoid project delays. - Record-Keeping and Presentation Support:
Assist with presentations and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. - Emergency Response / Urgent Support:
Provide urgent support and troubleshoot critical issues during emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Respond quickly to urgent customer service requests, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. - Strong Communication Skills:
Verbal Communication: Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and confidently in meetings, presentations, and discussions with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
Written Communication: Skilled in drafting clear, concise, and professional emails, reports, and documentation for both internal and external audiences.
Active Listening: Able to attentively listen and respond appropriately to ensure understanding and build effective working relationships.
Interpersonal Skills: Comfortable interacting with a wide range of individuals and fostering positive relationships in both team environments and one-on-one situations.
Adaptability in Communication: Adjust communication style and tone depending on the audience, whether addressing technical teams, senior management, or customers.
Conflict Resolution: Ability to navigate difficult conversations or misunderstandings with tact and diplomacy to maintain a positive and productive work atmosphere.
Requirements
- Diploma & Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or any relevant qualification.
- Possess an min 3 years' experience in commissioning & trouble shooting of Electric motor, drives and control system for Marine vessel is desired.
- Possess a Class 3 Driving license
- Possess strong technical skills, including knowledge of electrical systems, PLC, communication protocols, troubleshooting techniques, and safety practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues
- Experience working in marine industry will be advantage
- Positive attitude and a team player
- Bilingual as need to communicate with China counterpart
- Experience working in marine industry will be advantage
