Candidates are expected to:-

• Participate in the general planning of maintenance and operations onboard vessel;
• Control the detailed implementation of the general plans in appropriate areas;
• Plan the activities of immediate subordinates and officers under his/her charge;
• Serve as a member of the Management Team onboard vessel;
• Implement safety policies and practices onboard vessels according to the QHSSE policies as defined;
• Perform the role of the Training Officer for any Engineer Cadets/Ratings;
• Deputise for the Chief Engineer when necessary; and
• Appraise the performance of immediate subordinates and Cadets and report to Chief Engineer.

The ideal candidate must:-

• Possess a Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer Class II); and
• Possess at least 3 years of experience as a Second Engineer Officer onboard a container vessel.
