EngineeringAbout MyrLabs
MyrLabs is an A*STAR spin-off that creates cutting edge hardware and algorithms. The MyrLabs team consists of driven and multi-disciplinary engineers dedicated to bringing game-breaking solutions for our partners by innovating at the PCB, firmware, and software levels. We work on problems that academia fears to, cannot, or will not address. These are problems that are difficult and require multi-disciplinary efforts. Our approach focuses on the use of non-mainstream techniques to spark creativity and to solve problems in ways that are not seen before.
Job Brief
We are looking to hire Robotics Field Engineers (Entry Level) to join our Robotics Team. This is a position for the assembly, deployment, and maintenance of robots (and robotic systems) in both office/lab and field environments. This role is designed for diploma graduates who possess strong technical aptitude, hands-on problem-solving abilities, and a keen interest in robots. The successful candidates will support engineering teams in assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and improving robotic platforms, with a particular focus on electrical and mechanical integration.
You must, at minimum, HAVE a relevant Diploma in the field of Computer Engineering, Robotics, Embedded Systems, or Mechanical Engineering.
Responsibilities
1. Assemble and commission robots and related systems in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
2. Deploy and install robots on-site, including setup, calibration, and initial performance verification.
3. Perform soldering, wiring, and electrical integration tasks for sensors, actuators, and control components.
4. Conduct preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair activities to ensure system reliability and uptime.
5. Support field testing, data collection, and performance analysis of deployed robots.
6. Prepare and maintain accurate records, including assembly logs, test reports, and maintenance documentation.
7. Contribute to the design and modification of simple mechanical parts suitable for 3D printing.
8. Collaborate with the research teams to identify and implement design or process improvements.
Technical Requirements
Relevant Diploma in the field of Computer Engineering, Robotics, Embedded Systems, or Mechanical Engineering, OR proof of exceptional talent.
Critical Skills
- Proficiency with soldering (both through-hole and surface-mount techniques)
- Familiarity with 3D modelling software (e.g., Fusion 360 or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- Basic troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems
Nice to Haves
- Basic knowledge of 3D printing processes and materials (preferred).
- Exposure to microcontrollers such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi (an advantage).
Working Conditions
- Combination of office/lab- and field-based work.
- May require occasional travel for site deployments or maintenance support.
- Standard working hours, with flexibility required during deployment or testing phases.
Career Development
This position offers an opportunity for growth into roles such as Robot Research Engineer or Prototyping/Design Engineer, depending on performance and skill development.
Salary
$2,600 to $3,800 a month depending on proven expertise and relevant experience
After application, please send your resume, MBTI profile, and portfolio of previous work or ideas to careers@myrlabs.com
