We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Electrical Engineer to lead and manage the electrical aspects of construction projects from planning through execution. This role involves coordinating design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring alignment with project goals, safety standards, and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Design Coordination:

• To carry out project planning and coordination of site activities
• To produce electrical designs, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Coordinate with consultants, designers, and clients to ensure electrical plans meet project requirements.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings, planning sessions, and design reviews.

Execution & Supervision:

• Regular review of on-site electrical installation activities to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to specifications.
• Supervise electrical teams, managing schedules and work progress.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure installations align with design and code requirements.

Technical Support & Problem Solving:

• Resolve technical issues on-site by providing engineering solutions and design clarifications.
• Ensure the proper selection and installation of electrical materials, equipment, and systems (e.g., power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, etc.).

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure that all electrical works comply with local regulations, international standards, and safety protocols.
• Lead risk assessments for electrical tasks and enforce safety guidelines on-site.
• Coordinate with HSE teams to maintain a safe working environment.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain updated records including drawings, test results, site instructions, and daily reports.
• Prepare and submit technical reports, material submittals, method statements, and as-built documentation.
• Support in project handover and commissioning processes.

Communication & Coordination:

• Serve as the main point of contact for all electrical-related matters on various project sites.
• Liaise with main contractors to ensure cross-disciplinary integration.
• Attend coordination meetings with main contractors and consultants.

Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction and preferably infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems installation in building or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and standards.
• Proficient in electrical design tools (eg. AutoCAD, etc.) and MS Office.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Work Conditions:

• Based on active construction sites with occasional office-based work.
• Office Hours: Mon to Fri - 0830 to 1730, Sat 0830 to 1230. May require working extended hours to meet project deadlines.
• Able to work independently
• Involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess a Class 3 driving licence (will be an advantage)

Remuneration:

• Negotiable, based on relevant experience.
• Annual bonus depends on work performance.
• Medical and insurance benefits as per MOM.
• Annual leaves starts at 7 days, with 1 day incremental each year to maximum 14 days.
