The Role:

WorldQuant is seeking a Lead Engineer to join our team. You will design and implement complex software systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical best practices. You will act as a subject matter expert, providing deep technical expertise and driving innovation within your domain. You will optimize existing systems for reliability, scalability, and maintainability, while also leading technical discussions and collaborating with stakeholders to define project requirements. Your focus will be on delivering impactful solutions and advancing the technical capabilities of the organization. The responsibilities for this role will include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering their professional development and technical growth.
• Coordinate team workflows, ensuring timely delivery of projects and managing shifting priorities.
• Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and productivity
• Architect and implement complex software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing deep technical expertise and guidance to the team.
• Lead technical discussions and collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and solutions.
• Drive innovation by researching and implementing new technologies, tools, and methodologies.
• Optimize existing systems and processes to improve performance and reduce technical debt.
• Conduct technical reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven expertise in software architecture and system design.
• Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) principles.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices and cloud computing platforms.
• Experience with advanced debugging and performance optimization techniques.
• Ability to stay updated with emerging technologies and drive their adoption within the organization.
• Strong English language communication skills, both written and verbal.
