Project Introduction: The project titled Anticipatory Robotics aims to improve Human-Robot Interaction by developing a "Robot Body Language" wherein messages including emotions are incorporated into the movements of collaborative robots.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and test real-time multi-objective motion planning algorithms to enable hybrid expressive-functional robot trajectories in collaborative robotic systems.
- Conduct HRI experiments to validate the framework across coexistence, sequential collaboration, cooperation, and collaboration scenarios.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers in robotics, AI, and human factors.
- Contribute to high-quality research publications, conference presentations, and reports.
- Support the supervision of graduate students and research assistants involved in the project.
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in robotics motion planning and control and familiarity with trajectory optimization for single- and/or dual-arm cobots.
- Knowledge of movement primitives and multi-objective optimization.
- Practical experience with industrial or collaborative robotic arms (e.g., UR, KUKA, ABB).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and ROS.
- Experience working on interdisciplinary projects involving both technical and human-centered aspects of robotics.
- Demonstrated ability to carry out independent research, as evidenced by publications in reputable journals or conferences.
