Our journey is rooted in purpose and passion. Coach Ben Tham dedicated his life to water safety education after tragically losing his best friend to drowning. His son later founded The Swim Starter to continue this mission, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn life-saving swimming skills in a safe, fun, and structured environment.

Our Mission

At The Swim Starter, our goal is clear: to help 1 million students learn to swim by 2040. Every coach who joins us plays a vital role in achieving this vision, making a lasting impact on water safety education. Today, The Swim Starter operates across Southeast Asia, helping thousands of students develop essential swimming and water safety skills. Our coaches are part of a growing movement to prevent unnecessary tragedies and equip children with the confidence they need in the water.

What You’ll Do:

• Teach swimming lessons to children, focusing on both water safety and skill development.
• Adapt coaching techniques to meet individual learning needs.
• Foster a positive, encouraging environment for students.
• Work closely with parents and The Swim Starter team to ensure student progress.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Coaches licensed with NROC certification and SwimSafer certification.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with children.
• CPR and First Aid certifications
• Passionate individuals committed to water safety and skill development.
