Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Consultation and Needs Assessment
Meeting with clients to understand their needs, preferences, lifestyle, and budget.
Discussing the overall vision and function of the space, including how it will be used.
Conducting site visits to assess the space and take measurements.
2. Space Planning and Layout Design
Creating floor plans that optimize the use of space.
Designing functional layouts that align with the client's needs and aesthetic preferences.
Making decisions on traffic flow, furniture arrangement, and spatial functionality.
3. Design Concept Development
Developing a cohesive design concept that incorporates color schemes, furniture, finishes, materials, and lighting.
Creating mood boards or visual presentations to help the client visualize the design direction.
Integrating the client's brand identity, if designing commercial spaces.
4. Material Selection and Specification
Selecting materials, finishes, furniture, textiles, and accessories that align with the design concept and client preferences.
Sourcing materials, furniture, and decor from suppliers and vendors.
Ensuring that materials are durable, sustainable, and suitable for the space.
5. Budget and Cost Management
Estimating and managing the project budget.
Sourcing materials and products within the client's budget and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
Providing cost breakdowns for all aspects of the project, including labor, materials, and furnishings.
6. Project Management
Overseeing the project from start to finish, including coordinating with contractors, builders, and suppliers.
Ensuring that the project timeline is adhered to and addressing any issues that arise during the execution phase.
Handling the logistics of deliveries, installation, and final adjustments.
- Staff Management:
Recruit, train, and manage employees.
Create work schedules and allocate tasks efficiently.
Provide performance feedback and conduct regular performance reviews.
Foster a positive and motivating team environment.
Handle staff issues, including discipline and conflict resolution. - Customer Service:
Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained.
Address customer complaints, queries, and feedback.
Train staff on customer service best practices.
Maintain an inviting and friendly store atmosphere. - Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels and manage inventory to ensure products are always available.
Order stock and manage suppliers.
Conduct regular stock audits and manage product displays.
Minimize loss through theft, damage, or poor stock management. - Sales & Financial Management:
Meet or exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Monitor and analyze sales data to adjust strategies.
Ensure proper pricing, promotions, and discount strategies.
Manage the shop's budget, ensuring cost control and profitability.
Oversee cash handling and banking procedures. - Operational Efficiency:
Ensure smooth daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the shop.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies.
