For Employers
Junior Visual Designer

SNOWBIRD PTE. LTD.
We think there are many incredible companies out there that make genuinely interesting products or deliver valuable services, but are out-of-sync with how fast the world is shifting. We work with senior leaders within these firms to shape their strategy that can effectively respond to, partake in, or even create, a wider cultural shift globally. Our clients span a wide range of industries, across USA, UK, Europe and Asia. Our work is proudly interdisciplinary, very plugged into culture and built with equal parts analysis and imagination.

We're looking for a visual designer to bring our thinking to life across a range of visual media. A visual designer who has strong editorial instincts, and can turn complex ideas into clear, thoughtful, visual work.

We're not looking for single-craft-specialists. But not necessarily a "generalist" either. There is a Japanese idiom that explains what we are looking for: hakugaku-tasai. Hakugaku (博学) represents Input: the sheer volume of data in one's head. A walking encyclopedia is Hakugaku. Tasai (多才) represents Output. The ability to do things-painting, coding, negotiating, playing music. A person who is only Hakugaku might be boring or pedantic. A person who is only Tasai might be a skillful performer but lacks depth. Hakugaku-tasai is the perfect marriage of the two: someone who has consumed information widely and can apply that depth to various practical skills.

Studying everything visual - from cinema to book covers to commercial package design - you have diverse input streams. You have the ability to translate complex topics into forms people can grasp intuitively. You are less likely to be defined by just one form of output. You can create visual explanations, diagrams, impactful presentations, prototype sketches, short videos - helping people 'make sense of things'. Your job will be to identify the underlying patterns in complex problems and make them visible in ways that create genuine understanding.

In this role, you'll shape snowbird's visual output across platforms - including our website, social channels, newsletters, with the potential to extend into a (physical) zine! You'll support client projects, primarily through presentation design and video editing, producing clear, well thought-out design work that reflects the complex strategies we deliver.

Personal traits

Taste & judgement. You produce work that accurately reflects the client, the content, and the context.

Curiosity. You ask questions, want to understand why decisions are being made, and are comfortable challenging ideas when they don't feel right.

Ownership. You take responsibility for your work, follow things through, and care about the quality of what you deliver.

Collaborative mindset. You work well with others and contribute positively to shared projects.

Audience focus. You think about how the work is seen, used, and understood by its intended audience.

AI-forward, not AI-dependant You align AI outputs with the core objective and ensure that design iterations actually serve the purpose

Anti-slop, anti-mid iykyk
