Job Summary:

Drives end-to-end product design from market research to production, translating customer insights into functional, manufacturable designs. Develops concepts, creates supplier-ready documentation, partners with vendors through sampling, and collaborates cross-functionally to deliver high-quality products on time.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct independent market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor insights (US market focus) to identify new product opportunities and design directions.
2. Translate insights into clear product requirements: user needs/pain points, design gaps & opportunities, functional specs, materials considerations, and design criteria.
3. Generate multiple concept directions per project (sketches/2D/3D), then refine the best direction with strong design rationale.
4. Ensure designs are functional, user-centric, safe, and manufacturable-balancing creativity with cost, quality, and timeline realities.
5. Create accurate, supplier-ready documentation (measurements, specifications, construction notes, materials/trim callouts, and artwork files where applicable) with strong file/version control.
6. Liaise directly with suppliers to confirm feasibility (materials, construction, process/tooling), clarify questions, and resolve technical questions. Drive sample development cycles: evaluate prototypes/samples, identify issues, and provide/propose clear, actionable revision instructions to improve function and quality.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on design intent, feasibility, and timelines across the development cycle.
8. Present research findings, concepts, and design decisions clearly to stakeholders and maintain organized file/version control throughout development.
9. Manage priorities effectively across concurrent & multiple projects, adapting quickly to evolving requirements, timelines, and management feedback-while maintaining a high creative and execution bar.

Qualifications:

1. 1-2+ years of product/industrial design experience (consumer goods preferred; baby/parenting is a plus).
2. Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop; 3D/CAD tools such as Rhino/SolidWorks/KeyShot and other related tools for .STP, .OBJ, .3DS format).
3. Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
4. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.
5. Fluent in Mandarin to communicate effectively with China-based suppliers.
