Job Scope: Interior Fit-Out Quantity Surveyor (Tendering Role)
1. Pre-Contract / Tendering Stage
Review Tender Documents: Analyze architectural, ID, MEP, and structural drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
Prepare Tender BQ/Cost Plan: Quantify materials and works based on drawings; prepare accurate cost estimates and BQ for submission.
Subcontractor/Supplier Sourcing: Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
Tender Submission: Compile and submit tender documents including pricing, clarifications, program, and assumptions within deadlines.
Value Engineering: Propose cost-saving alternatives while maintaining design intent and functionality.
Attend Tender Interviews: Support the commercial team or management during post-tender clarifications and negotiations.
2. Post-Contract (Once Project is Secured)
Cost Control & Budget Monitoring: Track project costs, variations, and manage budgets to avoid overruns.
Progress Claim Preparation: Prepare monthly progress claims based on site completion and contract terms.
Variation Orders: Identify, evaluate, and submit variations with proper documentation.
Subcontractor Management: Issue work orders, assess subcontractor claims, and verify site measurements.
Final Account Preparation: Work with client and subcontractors to finalize accounts at project completion.
3. General Responsibilities
Measurement & Take-offs: Conduct accurate quantity take-offs from drawings for all interior fit-out elements (e.g., carpentry, drywall, ceilings, finishes, M&E).
Contract Administration: Understand contract clauses (e.g., SIA, PAM, or bespoke contracts), ensure compliance.
Site Visits & Coordination: Work closely with project teams for progress verification and issue resolution.
Documentation: Maintain updated cost reports, variation logs, and procurement tracking sheets.
Compliance: Ensure work is within regulatory, safety, and contractual standards.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, or similar measurement tools
Strong knowledge of fit-out materials and construction methods
Good negotiation and communication skills
Time management and ability to handle multiple tenders simultaneously
