Construction Manager


Key Responsibilities and Activities:
• Plan, organize, and manage day-to-day site activities to meet project objectives.
• Implement and monitor the overall project schedule execution, address deviations, and ensure project compliance.

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors,workersand site personnel.
    • Ensure that construction activities adhere to approved designs, schedules, and budgets.
    • Monitor the quality of work and ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve issues or potential delays.
    • Manage and coordinate resources including materials and equipment to optimize utilization efficiency.
    • Liaise with project stakeholders (clients, engineers, architects) and provide progress updates.
    • Maintain familiarity with local safety management regulations.
  • Rigorously enforce on-site health and safety standards as well as safe and civilized construction practices.
    • Prepare and submit site progress reports and documentation to the project management team.
  • Participate in bids and tenders.

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach with detail-oriented management to ensure operational foresight and precision.

 

Technical Competencies:
• Knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and building regulations.
• Ability to interpret and execute construction plans and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Office, MS Project, Primavera, and AutoCAD).
• Expertise in managing construction schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.

Skills & Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of construction processes, quality control, and safety standards.
• Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and subcontractor management.
• Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.

Formal Education:
• Master or Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering or Mechanical and Electrical or equivalent, recognized universities under the BCA is a plus.

Experience Required:
• Minimum 8 years of experience in construction site management, including managing large-scale projects. Preferred candidate with airport project experience. 
• Proven experience in leading site teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and managing construction schedules and budgets.
