Key Responsibilities:
Skills & Qualifications:
- Create Detailed Design Drawings: Produce detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software based on initial design concepts and instructions provided by interior designers.
- Prepare Floor Plans & Layouts: Draft floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D renderings that accurately reflect the design concept, ensuring that dimensions, materials, and finishes are clearly defined.
- Coordinate with Design Teams: Work closely with interior designers, architects, and engineers to understand design specifications and provide technical support for ongoing projects.
- Ensure Accuracy & Precision: Ensure that all drafted plans are accurate and comply with industry standards, local building codes, and project requirements.
- Assist in Material and Product Selection: Help with the selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, and finishes, ensuring all items are properly represented in the design drawings.
- Revise & Update Drawings: Revise and update plans as necessary based on feedback or changes to the project scope, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and aligned with the design intent.
- Create Presentation Boards & Documentation: Support the creation of presentation materials, including sketches, renderings, and technical drawings, to communicate design ideas to clients.
- Maintain Design Files: Organize and maintain design files, CAD libraries, and other documentation related to ongoing and completed projects.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
Proven experience as a drafter or in a similar role, ideally within the interior design or architecture industry. - Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.) and other design tools.
Knowledge of interior design principles, building codes, and construction methods.
Experience with 3D rendering software is a plus (e.g., V-Ray, Rhino, or similar). - Attention to Detail: Ability to create precise, accurate, and clear design documentation with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with designers, clients, and contractors.
- Organization & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality.
- Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate design challenges and develop practical, creative solutions.
