As Quantity Surveyor, you will assist, and/or support various projects including managing clients, projects, project teams to deliver projects on time, within budget and to the required quality levels expected by the Currie
& Brown and our Clients. Responsible for the performance of projects assigned to you, including clients' satisfaction and opportunities for repeated business.
- Manage ongoing projects (cost estimation, tender preparation, contract administration)
- Ensure smooth handover and maintain compliance
- To undertake QS scope of works mainly in Civil, Structural, Architectural, Interior Design and the like
- Strive to provide the best cost consultancy services to clients
- Work to a high standard & have a high level of technical expertise
- Excellent communication skills
- Undertake project feasibility assessments.
- Assessing design, preparing cost plans and budget estimates
- Estimating costs, analyzing risks, and controlling costs
- Responsible for tendering and procurement management and contract administration
- Preparing tender documents and undertaking tender analysis
- Preparing monthly valuations and financial statements
- Preparation and negotiation of final accounts
- Manage other Quantity Surveyors working on your projects as required
- Actively participate in Currie & Brown group internal forums, training, and social events
- Lead and contribute to, as appropriate, the commercial interests and aspirations of the Company and your business unit
- Assist with the identification and conversion of new business development opportunities including the preparation of submissions and proposals
- Promoting the company values at all times
- Other duties and responsibilities as defined in the methods and procedures contained in the company's Quality Management System
Experience:
- Degree in quantity surveying or related discipline
- A minimum of two years' technical delivery experience gained within a global construction consultancy
- Well-developed technical skills, for example preparing tender documents, estimates and cost plans, measurement from drawings, etc
- Passionate about quantity surveying and furthering your career with a leading property consultancy
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills
- Excellent collaborative and team work skills
- Ability to build long-term relationships
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with measurement tools such as CostX and CADMeasure desirable
