Quantity Surveyor
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, tender submissions, and Bills of Quantities (BQ).
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and documents to identify material, labor, and time requirements.
- Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for cost comparison.
- Conduct cost analysis and prepare rate build-ups for various trades and disciplines.
- Prepare preliminary budgets, cash flow projections, and cost plans for management approval.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, and internal project teams to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
- Support tender negotiations and provide technical/commercial input during bidding.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and construction methods to ensure competitiveness.
- Assist in post-contract duties such as variation orders, interim valuations, and final accounts when required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, or equivalent.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in estimation and tendering, preferably in building or civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of measurement, costing, and contract administration.
- Proficient in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Glodon Cubit) and MS Office.
- Familiar with local construction practices, market rates, and regulatory requirements in Singapore.
- Good analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
