Quantity Surveyor cum Drafter | Archi Coordinator | Building Structural & Electrical works | Ubi

Working Days: 5.5 days

Working Timing: 8.00AM-5.00PM (8.00-12.00PM on Saturdays, Alternate)

Working Location: Ubi Techpark

Starting Salary: $2,700 - $4,700 (depending on relevance)

Roles & Responsibilities

This role combines technical quantity surveying work with drafting and project coordination responsibilities. The ideal candidate must balance analytical tasks (such as quantity take-offs and tender document preparation) with field and coordination activities.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves several areas of work, which can be divided into three main sections:

A. Tender and Contract Preparation

• Document Compilation:
  \tCollaborate with architects and/or clients to prepare, analyze, and compile tender documents, quotations, and contracts. This involves the creation of bills of quantities.
• Tender Summary Preparation:
  \tAssist with preparing summarized reports of tenders to aid management decision-making.
• Strategic Pricing:
  \tContinuously monitor market trends and advise on pricing strategies to improve tender success rates.

B. On-Site and Technical Tasks

• Quantity Take-Off:
  \tPerform detailed quantity take-offs, ensuring accuracy in preparation of required estimates.
• Site Visits:
  \tAttend site visits when required to validate quantities and project progress.
• Value of Work:
  \tAssess and value completed work as part of progress reporting and final project account finalization.
• Progress Claims & Variations:
  \tAssist in preparing progress claims and variation orders, ensuring accurate reflection of completed tasks and adjustments.

C. Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination

• Resource Sourcing:
  \tIdentify and source suppliers and subcontractors to support different stages of the construction project.

Job Requirements

• At least a Diploma in Building or Construction, Civil or Structural Engineering; higher certifications are viewed favorably.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in relevant fields, particularly in RC/Structural & Electrical works.
• Preference for candidates with exposure to industry trends and experience with Design & Build Tenders.

Technical and Software Proficiency

• AutoCAD:
  \tProficiency in both 2D and 3D drafting.
• Microsoft Office Suite:
  \tAdvanced skills in Word, PowerPoint, and especially Excel for data handling and reporting.
