Assistant Director, Undergraduate Programme
A young and research intensive, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) has 33,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students in engineering, business, science, humanities, arts, social sciences, education and medicine. Ranked among the world's top universities. NTU Entrepreneurship Academy (NTUpreneur) is the focal point of entrepreneurship education within the University and the region. The Assistant Director, Undergraduate Programmes, plays a critical role in promoting entrepreneurship education, fostering entrepreneurial mindset and cross disciplinary collaborations within NTU and beyond. The incumbent will lead and supervises the staff team in charge of the operation of the SMiE and MiE programmes to ensure effective operations of the programmes. In consultation with the Deputy Director of Graduate and Undergraduate Programmes who is also the Academic Director of NTUpreneur, the incumbent will take initiatives to enhance the value proposition and delivery of the programmes, overseeing academic planning, faculty appointment, programmes marketing, student and alumni engagement, and event management. The incumbent will also render support to the External Relations team on industry outreach for I&E ecosystem development.

Responsibilities include:

Oversee academic planning & faculty engagement for SMiE and MiE programmes.
  • Oversee the appointment and engagement of instructors for the undergraduate academic programmes and develop a pool of academic and industry experts for teaching.
  • Prepare, compile, and oversee the teaching budget for all the undergraduate programmes.
  • Supervise to facilitate and administer cross-department and interdisciplinary collaborations related to the undergraduate entrepreneurship education.


Oversee strategic programme development and co-lead strategic collaborations with the Deputy Director of Graduate and Undergraduate Programmes.
  • Initiate and lead regular review of the programme curriculum and administration to ensure relevance and effectiveness of the programmes.
  • Co-lead with the Deputy Director and contribute to all policy and operational reviews.
  • Explore and develop collaborations across teams in NTUpreneur and NTU, alumni and external stakeholders and industry partners.


Lead in conceptualising effective programme development and marketing strategies and plans to elevate the reputation of NTUpreneur and increase the enrollment of both SMiE and MiE programmes.
  • Conceptualise and develop effective marketing plan to attract applicants for both SMiE and MiE programmes.
  • Oversee the student recruitment, quality of course delivery by the instructors, and the administration team's operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Advocate and perform the role of a Staff Ambassador for SMiE and MiE.


Lead in designing and overseeing experiential learning activities and programmes
  • Review, design and organise the experiential components (including activities and programmes), source strategic industry partners, plan and organise the activities and programmes.
  • Collate and analyse data to ensure learning objectives are met effectively, with cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with other teams in NTUpreneur in particular the outreach and OEP teams to ensure students get a holistic and comprehensive entrepreneurship education.


Drive, oversee and implement the enhancement of students' learning experience and monitor its effectiveness through strategic approaches.
  • Oversee major academic events such as orientation, team bonding, learning progress, teaching and learning feedback, leadership development, and graduation celebration matters.
  • Initiate and lead frequent, open communication with the students.


Oversee and implement undergraduate alumni engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee the development of an archive compilation of alumni entrepreneurial stories.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities among alumni with various internal and external stakeholders and add value to entrepreneurship community.
  • Collaborate closely with other teams in this endeavour.


Develop an effective and competent staff team.
  • Develop and guide a competent staff team to execute operations and assist in academic matters.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the team to achieve excellence in administration.


Requirements:
  • Degree with at least 10 years of experience in similar functions in Institute of Higher Learning or equivalent.
  • Possess a good network and contacts of entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and industry partners, and government/quasi-government agencies relevant to creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • Possess excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
