Assistant Manager, Casting

Key Job Accountabilities:
• Review technical and quality specs for casting costing.
• Lead development of investment casting parts and processes; reduce scrap and defects.
• Improve casting quality for both existing and new products.
• Support automation and casting simulation software for gating system design.
• Oversee all casting operations: wax tooling, shell production, pouring, finishing, heat treatment, NDT, and machining.
• Drive manufacturing and productivity improvements to enhance quality and reduce costs.
• Ensure casting processes meet aerospace standards.
• Provide technical input on tooling and SolidCAM machining.
• Lead Industry 4.0 automation projects, including planning, budgeting, and implementation.
• Mentor engineers and promote urgency in engineering tasks.
• Champion sustainability and lean practices to reduce energy use and waste.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management.
• Coordinate with HODs and cross-functional teams to execute casting and tooling projects.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and planning for smooth operations.
• Perform tasks assigned by senior management.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of casting engineering experience required.
• Knowledge of investment casting for aerospace materials (Aluminum: A356, C355, F357; Stainless Steel: 17-4PH, 15-5PH, 347; Superalloys: Nickel-base equiaxed).
• Understanding of casting metallurgy, NDT, and heat treatment preferred.
• Experience in people management and cost analysis is an advantage.
