Assistant Manager, Literacy
The Assistant Manager, Literacy provides literacy intervention to 5 to 12-year old students with learning challenges and disabilities to cope and remain in mainstream schools. The Assistant Manager also helps to support the effective day-to-day operations of the Centre by assisting in staff supervision and administrative tasks.

Job Responsibilities
Teaching (50%)
- Teach primarily using the Orton-Gillingham approach
- Tailor individualised educational plan for each student based on his/her learning challenges
- Prepare appropriate teaching resources and materials
- Write annual educational progress report for each student
- Update parents regularly on their children's progress and to conduct the parent-teacher conference twice a year
- Plan and execute Kids Club programmes with other colleagues
- Update the manager on clients' progress and development
- Collaborate with colleagues, Psychological Services and schools' SEN-O on case management
- Handle students' administrative matters
- Any other assigned duties and responsibilities
Centre Operations & Administration (50%)
- Assist the Manager in the day-to-day running of the Centre
- Manage class schedules
- Assist in enrolment and placement process
- Assist in planning, implementing and evaluating programmes and activities
- Ensure compliance with centre policies, safety procedures and regulations
Job Requirements
- Available to work half a day on Saturdays
- Sound theoretical understanding of child development
- Experience and aptitude in working with children with learning and behavioural needs
- Ability to engage and make strong student connections
- Strong command of the English language, preferably bilingual, both written and oral
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with parents, schools, colleagues, management & other stakeholders
- Ability to mentor and supervise a team of teachers with the manager
- Organised, detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Supervisory experience is a plus
- Degree, preferably in sychology, early childhood education or special needs education
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic IT knowledge and skills
