The Law Society of Singapore is seeking a passionate and proactive Manager to join our Learning and Development Department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the professional growth of our members through the development and management of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities. As a Manager, he/she will be assisting in the work of the Learning and Development Department, including but not limited to:
• Implementing, coordinating and overseeing the Law Society's training programmes, including but not limited to programmes for Part B students/practice trainees and non-members (such as affiliates, non-practising lawyers, paralegals, lawyers (NP), foreign lawyers, foreign bar associations etc) ("External Training") and Continuing Professional Development Initiatives and programs;
• Making strategic management and policy recommendations on External Training and Continuing Professional Development initiatives;
• Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Law Society's Learning and Development department;
• Overseeing the planning, management and organization of the events of the Law Society, as may be directed by the HoD, including but not limited to publicity of the events (including preparation of publicity materials);
• Collating and preparing event presentation materials; negotiating, coordinating and liaising with third party service providers (including venue and food and beverage arrangements);
• Liaising with exhibitors; Coordinating and liaising with speakers, chairpersons, emcee (where necessary), including making travel accommodation arrangements for speakers;
• Assisting in management of the budget for the events (including collecting payments, preparing and submitting Profit and Loss statement for each event);
• Handle registrations and event enquiries;
• Provide registration updates leading up to and after the event, on-site event management;
• Post-event follow up (including preparing post-event statement of accounts, follow up on outstanding receivables, provide attendance lists and a post-event analysis report based on feedback of event participants collated for each event;
• Performing such duties as may be designated by the HoD from time to time and at any time.
Requirements
• Possess a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in professional development training, project and event management or related fields
• Able to work confidently with members of the Judiciary and legal community
• Able to start immediately
