Our mission is to identify and address future challenges for Singapore and other cities through our foresight capability, knowledge and capability development and strategic platforms, including the World Cities Summit. Our work on policy research draws insights from our network of experts and knowledge partners and takes an evidence-based approach to inform urban planning and policy development in Singapore.
You can expect a dynamic and rewarding career at CLC, where you will help bring together city leaders and experts from around the world to create knowledge and apply these to addressing contemporary urban challenges and identifying critical opportunities.
JOB SCOPE:
CLC's futures and cities-oriented knowledge work in the built environment focuses on the following policy research domains:

2. Future Communities - what constitutes quality of life in a dense urban setting, and how these might be impacted by future live-work-play patterns, and changing social dynamics between different communities or segments of society
3. Future Urban Resilience and Regeneration - decarbonisation and net-zero/net-positive transitions, ecological planning, resource circularity, climate change adaptation and mitigation in cities, and the enabling urban governance systems for infrastructure planning and development
4. Thought Leadership - establishing partnerships and networks to support our research pillars, through the application of relevant approaches/methods such as urban science, foresight and indices, and reaching out through various platforms to profile CLC's work and mindshare.
For the role of Assistant Director, you will primarily help to drive thought-leadership and expansion of the City Network for the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize by building and strengthening partnerships amongst member cities, through the facilitation of multi-stakeholder engagement plans and research collaborations to share best practices, address common urban challenges, and support one another's knowledge efforts.
As part of your portfolio, you will contribute to CLC's knowledge work in the areas of socio-behavioral research for policy and planning to address urban challenges facing our communities, as well as examine new urban development approaches for cities to achieve liveability and resilience in a climate-changed and resource-constrained future.
What you will be working on:
You will team up with colleagues on the City Network for the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize and collaborate across research teams to develop key research agendas that respond to the latest developments in urban development and policy research.
You will partner cities and stakeholders to design and conduct research and analysis on assigned urban issues by adopting a range of qualitative and quantitative methods for data collection, with the intent of translating applied research into policy.
