IMCB is the premier A*STAR research institute that harness scientific excellence to develop transformational biotherapeutics and diagnostics to prevent, diagnose and treat disease.

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced individual to join IMCB's Tech-Business team. The Tech-Business office is responsible for translating our scientific discoveries to commercial solutions and drive economic and social outcomes for Singapore. This individual will be responsible for identifying cutting edge assets and technologies and nurturing them into early-stage spin offs. They will work closely with researchers to advance their assets and develop go-to-market strategies. This individual will also oversee the management of the research institute's intellectual property portfolio and advice on patent filing strategies to enable successful commercialisation.

Responsibilities:

• Incubate R&D projects: Identify high potential projects and support their development from proof of concept to early stage development.
• Start-up support: Advise early stage projects on development, commercialisation strategies, securing funds from government grants and venture capital, prepare business plans. Connect startup with partners, investors and resources to accelerate their growth.
• Market and technology analysis: Conduct competitive landscape analysis and market research to guide researchers on their development pathway and assess feasibility of projects.
• Intellectual property management: Manage the development and protection of intellectual property and review technology disclosures.
• Structuring agreements and leading negotiations with partners. Managing alliances with partners.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop commericalisation opportunities and due diligence.

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of relevant working experience, preferably with a background in biomedical science, life science, pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Experience in biomedical start-up or venture building or commercialisation of technology.
• Good interpersonal skills to engage diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to think critically and solve complex challenges.
• Familiar with intellectual property management and patenting.
