Assistant Director, Undergraduate Students

The Role:

The College of Engineering (CoE) is looking for Assistant Director, Undergraduate Students. This management role is integral to ensure a steady pipeline of talented undergraduate students to CoE in support of its pursuit for academic excellence. Together with the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Students, the incumbent will foster a dynamic academic and cultural ecosystem for undergraduate student community, advancing NTU's position as a leading global university in engineering and science.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Students, in implementing policies and managing undergraduate programs aimed at academic and cultural excellence within CoE.
  • Conduct horizon scanning of global higher education landscapes to understand trends, challenges, and opportunities in undergraduate education and recruitment.
  • Design and implement innovative strategies for undergraduate student outreach and recruitment, targeting diverse and talented student prospects locally and globally.
  • Collaborate with overseas institutions and universities to enhance visibility of CoE's undergraduate programmes and to broaden student exchange opportunities.
  • Serve as the central Point of Contact (POC) for undergraduate student matters, maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, including prospective students and current students.
  • Work with Schools and the University's Office of Admissions to coordinate and refine undergraduate admissions processes, ensuring alignment with CoE's strategic goals.
  • Develop and oversee programmes and initiatives to enrich the academic, social, and cultural experience for undergraduate students, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Support the development and coordination of undergraduate programmes, including dual-degree offerings, interdisciplinary initiatives, and undergraduate research opportunities.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's, Master of Science's, or Doctorate degree from a recognized university, preferably in Science, Technology, or Engineering.
  • Experience in an institution of higher education will be advantageous
  • Ability to manage and work with various stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skill
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • Resourceful team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Self-driven and independent worker who takes initiative
