Assistant Director, Business Development (Continuing Education and Training)
The School of Humanities' Master of Arts in Translation and Interpretation (MTI) programme offers high-standard professional training with an industry-relevant curriculum focused on English and Chinese translation and interpretation. The Programme aims to prepare graduates for leading roles in providing professional services in both public and private sectors and to promote high standards of translation and interpreting in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.

The incumbent works closely with the Programme Director on diversifying MTI's CET capabilities and elevate MTI's market presence through industry collaboration/partnership and strategic marketing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and develop strategic marketing campaigns for both the primary (MTI programme) and secondary (CET and other training programmes) business areas.
  • Work within the programme's annual marketing budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and propose the annual marketing budget for MTI.
  • Independently execute and implement the plans, including procuring services and conducting post-campaign analysis, to provide evidence-based recommendations to the Programme Director.
  • Develop industry network and establish a niche market for itself as a leader in translation and interpretation training.
  • Develop and establish internship opportunities for MTI students through industry engagement.
  • Establish additional revenue source through training services to the industry.


Requirements:
  • A recognised degree, preferably in Humanities/Social Sciences/Business Administration.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience and proven track record in business development, preferably in areas like Humanities and Education.
  • Applicants with experience in a higher educational institution or management of professional education programmes would be advantageous.
  • Ability to support the production of media-related resources, marketing content and materials.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Mandarin for liaising with Chinese counterparts and advertisers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and online communication software, such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Meticulous and resourceful.
