The Senior Assistant Director (Faculty Affairs) supports the Associate Provost Faculty Affairs (APFA) and the Deputy Associate Provost Faculty Affairs (DAPFA) in developing and reviewing faculty development related policies, driving faculty development and engagement initiatives and managing day-to-day operations with the objective to facilitate the professional development and engagement of faculty members of the University.
He/she leads a team of MSOs to provide secretariat and operational support to University level committees/ review meetings formed for the appointment, reappointment, promotion & tenure of Faculty members.
Key Responsibilities:
Faculty Development Policies and Programmmes
Support the APFA and DAPFA in charting faculty development roadmap to facilitate the professional development of faculty. Plan, organise and implement various internal and external faculty development programmes such as Mentorship and clinic sessions on faculty promotion and tenure preparation. Supporting the APFA and DAPFA in the development and review faculty development related policies and consult Office of Human Resources to ensure alignment and synergy with HR related policies. Communicate new or updated policies and processes to stakeholders and faculty and provide guidance on policy application to ensure successful implementation.
Faculty Talent Candidate Network
Assist the APFA and DAPFA in builidng a network and database on faculty talent candidates whom Colleges/Schools/OHR could consider for current and future faculty recruitment needs.
Secretariat Support Lead for Committees on Faculty Appointment, Reappointment, Promotion & tenure
Lead a team of MSOs working together with OHR in delivering and managing University level committees formed for the appointment, reappointment, promotion & tenure of Faculty members. Spearhead related process improvements and standardisations and update operational procedures for University internal controls and policy compliance.
Faculty Data Analytics
Prepare data analytics to facilitate planning and decision making by the APFA Office.
Team Management
Motivate and align the team in achieving the objectives of the University and APFA office. Set performance targets, provide coaching and constructive performance feedback and conduct appraisal.

Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree
- 8 to 10 years of relevant working experience
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team of direct reports
- Prior work experience in an institute of higher learning will be an added advantage
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong critical and analytical thinking
- Meticulous and organized
- Proactive with demonstrated dynamism and resourcefulness in problem solving
