We are recruiting a Assistant Director / Senior Assistant Director to join its multistakeholder team to manage and support the execution of A*STAR's Strategic Research and Translational Thrust (SRTT) as part of Central Initiative Directorate (CID). The SRTT are major strategic programmes in priority areas identified by A*STAR for long-term investment to pre-position A*STAR for advancement in emerging scientific domains.

The key job responsibilities of the Senior Manager/ Assistant Director / Senior Assistant Director for SRTT CID include the following:
- Work with the Executive Director, Research Office (RO) and Deputy Director, SRTT CID to manage the A*STAR SRTT initiative at the portfolio and programme level.
- Drive data analytics and dashboarding of SRTT programmes.
- Building excellence in grants management through the development, refinement and implementation of best practices, within A*STAR.
- Executing policies and processes pertaining to the administration of the funding initiative
- Regularly reviewing progress of awarded grants to ensure that KPIs, milestones and budget utilisation is on track.
- Support CID in engagements with SRTT Programme Managers and relevant research support teams to enable smooth SRTT execution, including monitoring and audit of budget utilization.
- Assist the Central Initiative Directorate to administer the internal A*STAR funding initiatives led by the Research Office.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders in closely monitoring SRTT programmes and facilitate timely check-ins for the periodic milestone reviews.
- Secretariat duties for SRTT including and not limited to convening of evaluation panels and engagement of stakeholders and serving as liaison to internal applicants on matters relating to SRTT.
- Ad hoc support as required
Job Requirements:
- Degree with good knowledge of STEM discipline.
- Minimally 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to engage internal and external stakeholders, including research leaders.
- Strong attention to details, e.g., grants terms and conditions.
- PMP certification is highly recommended.
- Experience and/or keen interest in work related to governance and policy, especially in the research & development sector.
- Keen interest in cutting edge science & technology.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and systems thinking abilities.
- Experience in data analytics and visualisation tools (R/Python/Tableau/PowerBI) will be an advantage.
- Resourceful and independent
