Assistant Director, Digital Learning and Literacies, Temporary Contract - 1 Year
The Office of Information, Knowledge and Library Services (OIKLS) at Nanyang Technological University invites applications for Assistant Director, Digital Learning and Literacies. Reporting to the University Librarian, the Assistant Director will work in collaboration with colleagues in OIKLS and across the University.

The successful candidate will champion the development and implementation of digital and AI literacy frameworks, and drive transformative strategies that empower the NTU community to thrive in their learning in a technology-rich environment. This is a 1-year contract position.

Responsibilities
  • Develop information, digital and AI literacy frameworks to underpin and drive digital learning and instructional activities of the library aligned with the direction of the university and integrate these frameworks into existing or new teaching pedagogies and methodologies.
  • Develop and implement digital learning strategies by identifying needs, aligning with frameworks, and steering content creation.
  • Collaborate with faculty and colleagues to integrate digital literacy competencies into curriculum and learning experiences.
  • Develop partnerships and collaborations with departments engaged in digital learning and instructional design to enhance educational outcomes, such as faculty and student success.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the team's annual work plan, budget and operational priorities. Develop and coach staff to achieve performance targets set.
  • Implement continuous review processes for all services, programmes, initiatives to make enhancements, ensure relevance, and identify gaps for new offerings.
  • Develop measurement tools and quality standards to monitor and evaluate effectiveness of service provision, adopt common indicators and consistent methodology for measuring impact, and report regularly on the outcomes and impact.


Requirements
  • Master's degree or post-graduate diploma in library and information science from a recognised university and a good bachelor's degree.
  • At least 9 years of working experience in academic libraries.
  • Familiarity with educational learning theory, assessment techniques and instructional design methods.
  • Experience in designing and facilitating instruction (face-to-face and online) and presenting to large and small groups.
  • Knowledge of academic integrity principles and issues.
  • Familiarity with reference management software such as EndNote, Zotero and Mendeley & learning management systems, e.g., Blackboard, LAMS, etc.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for learning and teaching in an academic setting.
