Assistant Director / Senior Assistant Director, Donor Relations
The University Advancement Office (UAO) supports NTU's giving mission by fostering meaningful relationships and strategic partnerships with philanthropists, alumni, business community partners, corporations, foundations, and friends that result in goodwill and philanthropy towards education and research that underpin a shared sustainable future.

This role is to drive donor relations and support the Director, Stewardship in other donor engagement matters. This would include driving strategic philanthropic engagement and cultivation support for top-tier donors in partnership with NTU leadership, re-engaging existing major gifts donors, and new ways of segmenting/ delighting donors.

Responsibilities:

Philanthropic Engagement and Cultivation Support Strategy
  • Drive and execute a donor engagement strategy for top tier donors in alignment with the Plan and the Framework established by UAO for its current philanthropic ambitions.


Donor Relations and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Oversee a portfolio of current and prospective top tier donors and communities, with the aim of developing and implementing engagement and fundraising strategies to enhance and grow donor contributions.
  • Develop, plan, and establish a series of interactions and/or activities to strengthen donor relationship, whereby the donors would have a favorable disposition towards supporting NTU's fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Director in establishing and implementing personalized and individual stewardship plans for top donors, including developing, planning, and organizing signature donor appreciation events to bring together the community of major donors and gift recipients.


Reporting
  • Lead in donor reporting efforts, including managing the administration of funds; ensuring Major Gifts donors are kept well informed of the use and impact of their gifts.


Requirements:
  • A degree in any discipline
  • Understanding of philanthropy as it relates to higher education.
  • Knowledge of good donor relationship management
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience preferably in higher education (or a comparably complex organization) in development, stewardship, advancement, or a related function, involving a range of senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving strategic outcomes in a large and complex environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences with gravitas.
  • Excellent ability to innovate and deal with ambiguity and organizational sensitivity with tact and diplomacy; to be opportunistic, responsive, resourceful, and resilient.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding and awareness of ethical considerations pertaining to advancement work, as well as an understanding and appreciation of cultural and intercultural sensitivities.
