Assistant Manager, Care & Guidance
NTU's Student Affairs Office seeks to achieve its mission of collaborating and co-creating a meaningful and enriching student life experience with its partners by:
  • promoting students' personal growth through co-curricular learning arising from student-led activities, leadership development initiatives, residential hall programmes, inclusion and integration efforts, community engagement initiatives and sports
  • facilitating meaningful engagement among key stakeholders within and outside of the NTU community.


Responsibilities

1) NTU's Bridging Programme
  • Coordinate with various NTU Offices to support NTU Bridging Programme Students' administrative transition into Singapore and NTU.
  • Collaborate with various NTU Offices to plan and implement the pastoral care programme for NTU's Bridging Programme Students.

2) Student Support and Case Management
  • Work with NTU Offices and Schools to identify and provide relevant support services to SM2, ASEAN and Science & Engineering scholars, both academic and non-academic.
  • Plan and implement activities for these students, to help them better integrate academically and socially.

3) University-Wide Integration Efforts
  • Collaborate with and provide advice to students, staff, and faculty to educate and raise awareness of integrative practices.
  • Plan and implement programmes and initiatives that inculcate the importance of diversity and integration.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies and practices which enhance integration within NTU.

4) Data analysis and preparation of reports for submission to regulators and NTU senior management.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in any related field from a recognised University.
  • Good working knowledge on the transition and integration of international students in higher education.
  • At least 3 - 5 years of relevant experience which involves considerable interaction with youth.
  • Experience with international students in the tertiary education sector will be advantageous.
  • Sensitive to and empathetic towards the transition and integration challenges faced by international students.
  • Critical and lateral thinking skills.
  • Ability to adapt effectively in a complex and constantly changing environment.
  • Communication, negotiation and influencing skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with university students and colleagues from different cultural and disciplinary backgrounds.
  • Strong drive to initiate, plan, implement and deliver integration initiatives on time and on target.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office application software.
