Assistant Manager, Graduate Studies (PMBA)

The incumbent will be required to oversee and manage the operational aspects of the Professional MBA programme in Nanyang Business School by ensuring the effective implementation of academic, administrative, and operational processes, in accordance with the University's policies and guidelines.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Programme Operations

To strive towards the provision of positive, enriching, and memorable academic and social experiences for the students through carrying out the operational, administrative aspects of the programmes with integrity, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset.

  • Orientation
    • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of orientation activities for the programmes, including procurement of orientation items, refreshments, preparation classes and materials, workshops, and teambuilding events.
    • To work with other GS programmes to ensure cost effectiveness.


  • Timetabling and Faculty Scheduling
    • Work closely with Academic Director of the PMBA Programme on periodic curriculum review, introduction or removal of courses and timetabling for each trimester/segment of the programme.
    • Monitor market trends and students' inputs on academic so as to give timely feedback to the advisory committee during curriculum design meetings.
    • Prepare related approvals and administration task for selected faculty members.


  • Pre-course
    • Work with internal estate departments on lessons and exams venue bookings.
    • Provide timely dissemination of course information, materials, and programme announcements to students
    • Provide faculty support in terms of printing/loading of course materials, class files/folders, class attendance lists, stationery or supplies for lessons, and other general administrative support
    • Provide academic advising to students in planning their courses and prerequisite requirements for graduation.
    • Ensure accuracy for student course registration for internal submission
    • Collaborate and liaise with partners in foreign universities' for all matters on students' overseas study components (if any)


  • In-course & Post-course tasks
    • Ensure smooth running of classes with professional and timely support to faculty and students
    • Monitor closely each student's academic progression such as to ensure that students may complete all graduation requirements within the candidature period.
    • Plan, organize and oversees the various social and/or professional events organized for the students.
    • Comply with University's assessment and examination policies and ensure accuracy in student grades and records
    • Solicit feedback with regard to course and student experience


Key competencies and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university, in any discipline
  • Relevant experience of between 5 - 7 years, with at least 3 years of experience in customer service and administration, preferably in the education industry
  • Willingness to work on selected weekends when required
  • Meticulous and detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively and work under pressure
  • A can-do attitude motivated to constantly make improvements in work areas.
  • Possess strong leadership and organisational capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional work attitude
  • Conceptual and analytical thinking skills
