Assistant Manager, HR Partnering

This role works closely with HR Cluster Lead, HR Business Partner and School Associate Chair (Faculty) on all aspects of faculty affairs and HR partnering with the aim to address faculty manpower and development needs of SoH.

Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence and Support on Faculty HR / Faculty Affairs
  • Engage in manpower planning and projection of faculty and work with School Finance Manager and Heads on manpower projections, budget and costings.
  • Plan and manage faculty search/appointment, re-appointment, post retirement re-employment for various faculty tracks, including tenured, tenure-track, lecturer track, faculty associate, adjunct and visiting.
  • Work with HR and School Leaders in seeking approvals on faculty leadership appointments and re-appointment.
  • Plan and manage Promotion and Tenure (PT) and Educator-Track & Practice-Track Promotion Exercise.
  • Assist in planning and implementing faculty performance appraisal exercise, seek inputs from HRBP and ACF on the plan and co-facilitate with HRBP the Faculty Performance Review Board (PRB) meeting.
  • Support in the conceptualization and implementation of faculty development initiatives such as mentorship programme.
  • Support Chair and ACF in building a nurturing, positive, performance based and forward-looking school culture and professional best practices.
  • Arrange for campus visit/research seminar and student lecture/interviews; arranging candidates' accommodation and schedules for campus visits, and assisting in reimbursement.
  • Assist Cluster Lead/HRBP on disciplinary or grievances matters.
  • Support Chair, ACF and HRBP in preparing various reports on faculty HR matters, analyzing and identifying issues and providing recommendations.


HR Policies, Processes and Systems
  • Assist CoHASS HRBP and partner with fellow Faculty HR Team members across CoHASS Schools in driving development, standardisation and improvement of faculty HR related processes, standard operation procedures (SOPs), and systems, with the objective of achieving operational efficiency & effectiveness, compliance with regulations and policies, and service excellence.
  • Educate employees on policy/system changes and implications, as well as understand and gather their feedback and input.


HR Partnership
  • Assist HRBP in partnering and supporting stakeholders and employees in a proactive and consultative approach on a full spectrum of HR functions.
  • Provide professional advice on the interpretation of HR policies and procedures, employment legislation, performance management, recruitment and rewards strategies.
  • Partner with HR Centre of Excellence and relevant key stakeholders in the delivery of key HR projects such as employee engagement surveys, people development programs, change management plans, performance management and promotional exercises etc.


Requirements
  • Degree with minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience - in particularly confidential administration responsibilities and stakeholder management
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize effectively with outstanding attention to details
  • Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships at all levels; handle sensitive matters with tact and discretion, while building trust and upholding confidentiality
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Good knowledge of Employment Act and Labour Laws would be advantageous
  • Comfortable operating in a matrix structure and in a constantly changing environment
