Senior Executive/Assistant Manager, Events
With this role at the NTU Events Office, the incumbent will gain a deep understanding and challenges of the different profiles of events that takes place at the university. Equally, the incumbent will gain exposure to and interact with senior management, high level VIPs, prominent alumni, and major donors, along with many other stakeholders within the NTU community and its partners.

The incumbent is expected to be able to organize a high-level event and develop a deep understanding of the organization structure and culture, protocols, be comfortable with interacting with important stakeholders and develop a strong network to support the future development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the project team in planning, organizing and execution of university-level events in virtual, hybrid or physical formats with domain owners
  • Financial oversight for events budget including invoicing other departments/schools and preparation of monthly reports
  • Conceptualise, plan and manage events from start to finish, including advising on protocols and administration
  • Technical knowledge in exhibition systems, electronics, carpentry and/or digital printing materials would be advantageous


Requirements
  • Degree from a recognized university, preferably related to events/hospitality management
  • At least 4 years of relevant working experience in events management, preferably in an academic sector
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in curating and managing high level dining events
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills, including the ability to engage and build rapport with individuals at all levels
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking abilities, along with effective planning and organisational capabilities to handle unexpected situations that may arise during event planning and execution
  • Proficient knowledge of relevant IT tools
  • Ability to prioritise and plan work activities in an organised manner, adept at multi-tasking and working under pressure and capable of tracking and delivering assignments on schedule
  • Meticulous attention to detail with high-level of accuracy, demonstrating a strong work ethic and discretion
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Positive attitude, able to work independently as well as collaborate effectively as a responsible and cooperative team player
  • Demonstrates creativity and resilience in problem-solving
  • Enjoys working in a not-for-profit environment and collaborating with the community to enable NTU's wider mission and objectives
  • Experience in producing / directing virtual and/or hybrid events
  • Knowledge in graphics/image editors would be advantageous
  • Knowledge in video production, HTML5, CSS, Sitefinity preferred
  • Protocols in handling high level events
