Manager / Assistant Director, Msc Programmes
The Manager / Assistant Director, Msc Programmes, a key leadership position in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences MSc Programmes team, is responsible for providing leadership, strategic oversight and operational guidance for all academic and student administrative services to a graduate student population of around 300 across four programmes.

Responsibilities
  • Management of budget and revenue
    • Oversee the operational expenditure and budget for all graduate degree programmes
    • Assist in the compilation of annual budget submissions and programme fee revision
  • Ensure operational efficiencies and quality course programmes
    • Lead and manage a team of staff in relation to student academic matters, programme advising, thereby ensuring smooth operations
    • Administer and coordinate academic processes related to student orientation and graduation
    • Oversee management of timetabling
    • Drive continuous improvement and innovation so as to provide best-in-class support services, as well as back-office efficiency and effectiveness
    • Translate School's strategies into operational goals, and ensure the delivery of high-quality services and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in advancement of graduate degree programmes
    • Work closely with the academic directors to develop, implement and review administrative and student support systems to ensure excellence in student service provision
    • Review and streamline processes associated with academic and student administration, and ensuring that internal processes are congruent with University policies
    • Ensure that staff in the respective areas of responsibility are familiar and in compliance with the University policies and regulations
    • Maintain a close rapport and relationship with both internal and external stakeholders

Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business or related areas
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in administration or education programme management
  • Strong ability to acquire and apply knowledge of University academic policies and regulations, as well as academic programmes offerings and structures
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Financial and budgeting skills, with experience in managing resources within a budgetary framework whilst ensuring appropriate levels of service provision
  • Strategic thinking, problem solving and collaborative skills
