Assistant Director, International Admissions

Responsibilities

Business Development and Management
  • Identify suitable markets for recruiting top international students based on knowledge of admissions and scholarship application trends and preferences of the Ministry of Education (MOE).
  • Formulate an outreach schedule, taking into consideration school holidays and examination periods, and identify top schools to reach out to principals and further education counselors.
  • Plan and coordinate marketing and outreach activities in new targeted countries while deepening penetration in traditional markets.
  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with top schools through regular engagement.
  • Acquire market intelligence by closely monitoring political and economic changes in order to stay informed.
  • Devise effective marketing approaches for different overseas markets and adapt to changes on the ground.

Marketing and Event Management
  • Plan the outreach schedule for various activities.
  • Organize outreach visits to partner schools and coordinate with faculty representatives from colleges.
  • Host foreign visitors from partner institutions and handle walk-ins by prospective applicants and their parents.
  • Collaborate with marketing colleagues to create a compelling sales pitch and ensure that marketing collaterals are up-to-date and appealing.

Admissions application and selection
  • Understand the education systems in new markets and propose admissions selection criteria based on market practices, intake targets, and applicant quality.
  • Manage the issuance of offers, monitor acceptances, and handle appeals to meet the objectives of the MOE and NTU Management.
  • Analyze admissions statistics to identify market potential and changes in applicants' preferences.


Supervisory
  • Demonstrate proficiency in administrative functions, including training new staff members.
  • Lead and develop a team of at least 4 support staff.
  • Engage in frequent brainstorming sessions with team members to improve work processes and leverage new marketing approaches.

Administrative
  • Support the Section Head in reviewing and updating admissions policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Ensure the team adheres to policies and SOPs, particularly in handling sensitive information obtained during admissions.
  • Continually impress prospective students and their parents with excellent service.


Requirements
  • A degree from a recognized university.
  • At least 9 years' relevant working experience in a higher educational institution or management of professional education programmes would be an advantage.
  • At least 6 to 8 years' supervisory experience and in managing a team with more than 1 direct report.
  • Prior experience in business development, partner and/or event management.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and data analytics.
  • Good communication skills; both written and verbal with public speaking experience.
  • A strong collaborator - ability to work well in within the team and with key stakeholders.
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills - the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess strong analytical, interpersonal and customer service skills.
