Job Description:

The Group Accountant will play a critical role in the financial management of Our Company, ensuring robust financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organisation, providing accurate and timely financial information to senior management and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: 

Financial Reporting: 

• Prepare consolidated and standalone financial statements for the Group in accordance with IFRS 
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
• Produce detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  
  Book-keeping:
• Prepare and input journals for investment and sales accounting entries
• Prepare carbon accounting inputs
• Review local subsidiary accounts and assist with their preparation where required.
  
  Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, as well as monthly and quarterly forecasts
• Analyse budget variances and provide insights to management
• Support long-term financial planning and strategy development 
  
  
  Compliance and Audit:
• Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations
• Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy
  
  Taxation:
• Manage and oversee the Group’s tax compliance, including preparation and submission of tax returns
• Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and payment
• Stay updated with tax regulations and advise on tax planning opportunities
  
  Financial Systems and Processes:
• Maintain and improve financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Train and mentor junior finance staff on financial processes and best practices 
  
  Singapore Engagement:
• Sit as a director on the board of directors in Singaporean subsidiaries
• Handle administrative tasks in Singapore 
  
  Stakeholder Management:
• Collaborate with various departments to gather financial information and support business initiatives
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management
• Prepare presentations and reports for Board meetings and other stakeholders

Requirements:

Education and Qualifications:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent)

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience post qualification, preferably in a group or multinational environment
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Strong knowledge of IFRS

Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Sage but not required) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Fluency in English
